This was such a fun hike. My girlfriend and I decided one Sunday morning that we wanted an adventure, so we decided to go as far as we could. We left the house at 8am got up to the Mount Shasta Area around 1pm, found a Blimpie Sub Sandwich Shop, which I haven't seen since I was in Nebraska, had lunch and began the 1.5 mile hike across the railroad tracks to find this beautiful area. It has hot as Hades up there...living in The Bay Area, it's usually pretty nice and cool, rarely getting above 70-80 degrees...however, up there, it was pushing 100-105. It was a bit of an adjustment. Unfortunately, on the way back it was even hotter going through the hottest part of California and one of my tires on my truck blew. I haven't had the truck for very long so it was a very hot experience of 114 degrees going through the motions of changing the tire on my new truck. It was quite an experience all around and I'm really happy with what came of it. Enjoy!
